MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – The nomination of delegates represents the beginning of the Belarusian People's Congress, BelTA learned from Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Buzovsky before a national conference of ideology workers on 17 May.

Igor Buzovsky said: “The Belarusian People's Congress has actually started already since the nomination of delegates, who will take part in the Congress, is part of the event, too. As part of the process leaders will be singled out as well as the issues that need to be discussed. Apart from that, the proposals that will allow shaping Belarus' development strategy will be worked out as well.”

The official remarked that the forthcoming congress, elections to the parliament, and the Belarus president's latest address to the nation and the parliament are important strategic events. They will determine the consequent way of the country's development in the economic, political, and social dimensions.

The Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration emphasized that the Belarus president's address is being analyzed now. The messages the address contains also represent part of the preparations for the Belarusian People's Congress. “The conceptual things it contains will become the foundation — including for discussions during the Belarusian People's Congress — of the strategic approaches to economic, social, and political development,” stressed Igor Buzovsky.

The national conference of ideology workers was held at premises of the Academy of Public Administration under the Belarus President on 17 May. The event gathered representatives of all regions of the country.
