MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – The 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held online, BelTA learned from the Belarus 1 TV channel.

“The 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take on a different form. Due to the epidemiological situation, the show will be held as a live stream. To protect the health of all the artists and ensure their participation, the competition will take place in a safe form: all the competing songs will be performed in a studio in each participating country, the official statement of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) reads. The broadcasting companies will soon receive instructions on how to prepare their artists in the new conditions,” Belarus 1 noted.

Thirteen countries, including Belarus, have announced their participation in the song contest. In view of the EBU statement, Belarus' Belteleradiocompany will decide on the form of its participation shortly.
