MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – The Minsk Office of the Investigative Committee of Belarus is carrying out a criminal investigation into the riots taking place in Minsk on 9-10 August, BelTA learned from the Investigative Committee.
“The investigation and manhunt resulted in detaining a number of people who are suspected of committing the above-mentioned crime. One of the detainees, a 34-year-old Minsk resident, had a knife, alcoholic beverages and protective means. He is a repeat offender and was convicted of robbery and hooliganism, among other things,” the Investigative Committee said. The suspect is unemployed.
The investigation continues.
