MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – The current five-year term will focus on improving the living standards of the nation. Head of the Belarus President Administration Alexander Kosinets made the statement on 23 April when asked about the possible tasks that may be set during the fifth Belarusian People's Congress, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Kosinets stressed that in 2016-2020 the government will primarily focus on improving living standards of the nation, increasing their prosperity, on enabling all the necessary conditions for forming the human capital, on further developing the education and healthcare systems, and on creating jobs.
Asked about development prospects of the production sector and agribusiness, Alexander Kosinets noted that they will be encouraged to increase export. “We will do everything necessary to be competitive in the World Trade Organization, to secure considerable availability of our quality products on foreign markets,” said the Head of the Belarus President Administration.
An organizing committee has been set up to make preparations for the fifth All-Belarusian People's Congress. Summing up results of every five-year term has already become a good tradition. All-Belarusian People's Congresses are held to set concrete goals and tasks of the country's social and economic development.
The Head of the Belarus President Administration stated that a great deal has been done in Belarus in the past five years: the production sector has been modernized as well as agribusiness, over 25 million m2 of housing has been built. Belarus is definitely the CIS leader in terms of housing commissioned, pointed out Alexander Kosinets. Besides, a lot has been done to develop transport, trade, the social sphere, education, healthcare and culture. “A large number of facilities have been built. All of it is being done so that we could have a truly powerful and prosperous state,” he added.
