MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – Representatives of the BRSM Youth Union will join the events to mark Remembrance Day of Victims of the Great Patriotic War on 22 June, BelTA learned from Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Aleksandra Goncharova.
“In the 79th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, the youth union will take part in more than 150 commemorative events: meetings, wreath and flower ceremonies at memorials and mass graves, car and bicycle races, excursions to museums and memorial sites. Keeping in mind the current epidemiological situation, some of the projects will be implemented online, for example, the internet challenge “75 Songs about War”, essay and poetry contests. Open dialogues and literary soirees will be also held online," said Aleksandra Goncharova.
According to her, representatives of the Gomel BRSM organization will take part in the patriotic event Nobody is Forgotten, Nothing is Forgotten at 4am on 22 June. Young people will lay flowers at the mass grave of national fighters and the grave of Hero of the Soviet Union Timofei Borodin, and release 30 ecological white balloons into the sky on the Central Quay of Gomel as a sign that young people remember the great feat of the older generation and thank them for peace, freedom and independence.
The BRSM primary organization of the Grodno State Agrarian University will invite students of the university to take part in the intellectual online game “In June 1941” on knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War. The Vitebsk Oblast BRSM organization and the Smolensk Oblast public organization of the Russian Union of Youth will hold a videoconference with the participation of representatives of public organizations, children's movements, reenactment clubs, educational institutions of Belarus, Russia and other CIS countries.
Representatives of the executive power, the Orthodox Church, members of the patriotic clubs of the region, and representatives of the BRSM Youth Union will gather at the Buinichi Field memorial complex in Mogilev District at 4 am on 22 June to attend a patriotic commemorative event.
