MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian army has begun another stage of the campaign designed to check the army's combat readiness and mobilization readiness, the Defense Ministry told BelTA.
A tank battalion of the 11th Independent Mechanized Brigade is switching to a combat-ready state. Reserve personnel will be mobilized as part of the process in order to evaluate the battalion's readiness to carry out its tasks. Over 140 reservists will be drafted.
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major-General Aleksandr Volfovich said: “It is a comprehensive test. The composition of the army units the test covers will increase. The troops will have to move to exercise areas and carry out combat training tasks. We can see what is going on in the country and outside it. In this complicated situation the army ensures and will ensure the military security of the state, the society, and every individual citizen, who wants to peacefully live and work in Belarus. We will not allow the desecration of our monuments, the destruction of our education system. We will not allow bullying citizens, paralyzing transport communications, replacing moral values of young Belarusians. The army is dead against it and is ready to protect its country from these threats as well.”
