Belarus border authorities: Documents issued in DPR, LPR not acceptable for entry to Belarus

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The documents issued in DPR and LPR are not acceptable for entry to Belarus, BelTA learned from Anton Bychkovsky, an official representative of Belarus State Border Committee.

People seeking entry to Belarus are granted entry if they produce the documents which give them the right to do so. This is formalized in international and bilateral treaties. “We comply with the legislation. We cannot let through those persons who have no documents allowing them to do so,” Anton Bychkovsky said.

“If we identify such persons as they depart the country, we will, of course, hold them accountable in accordance with the applicable law, for example, for violation of the rules of stay of foreign citizens and transit through Belarus,” he added.

As was reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the executive order on recognizing documents issued to Ukrainian citizens and stateless persons living in certain districts of Ukraine's Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
