MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Chairman of the Russian Union of Youth Pavel Krasnorutsky called the opening ceremony of the 2nd European Games stunning and grandiose as he talked to a BelTA journalist.
“This was a lavish opening ceremony. The teamwork of two directors – Aleksandr Vavilov of Belarus and Aleksei Sechenov of Russia – was incredibly successful. The opening ceremony was certainly an impressive, striking and grandiose show, and it was due to a great number of machinery and unique structures, a well-planned scenario and well-prepared participants of the ceremony. This is something to be proud of. I was happy to be among the guests of honor and to see the unity of two cultures and great teamwork as I watched the show together with my counterparts from the BRSM Youth Union,” Pavel Krasnorutsky said.
Taking part in the 2nd European Games were over 4,000 athletes from various countries. “Sport has always helped people find resources to move on, to become tougher and to strengthen willpower. The 2nd European Games drew real fighters who are ready to show their worth. I sincerely wish good luck to all the participants of this big sports event,” Pavel Krasnorutsky said.
In his words, the youth organizations of the two countries have been cooperating for over 25 years already. “We run a great number of international projects together in the territory of the two states. They include the Be-La-Rus youth camp that brings together young people from Belarus, Russia and Latvia, and the Student Queen beauty contest. Apart from that, the Russia-Belarus youth business incubator debuted last year. It was meant for people who are interested in launching international projects and starting businesses in technology, engineering and research. In 2019 we are set to expand the network of business incubators and attract more young entrepreneurs from the two countries,” Pavel Krasnorutsky said.
He added that the BRSM Youth Union will also get involved in the organization and conduct of the CIS Student Spring International Festival that will be held in 2020.
