MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) — Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent birthday greetings to Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state noted that over the centuries, the Armenian Apostolic Church has played an important role in the formation of Christian values all over the world and they have become key components of the national identity of the Armenian people, helped preserve its ancient traditions and rich culture.
“Many years of archpastoral service have earned you a well-deserved reputation in Armenia and beyond. Sincere friendship between our peoples, based on spiritual closeness, has always been and will always be the foundation of a full-fledged dialogue between Minsk and Yerevan,” the message of greetings reads.
