MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – I have never betrayed you and I never will, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed a rally of his supporters in Minsk on 16 August, BelTA has learned.
The head of state said that the internet is full of fake news today. Some say that the president has money and property abroad. Others say that he is sick or that he has died. “I am alive and I will live! Remember, I have never betrayed you and I never will,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
“I address them [opponents of the current authorities], and you make sure they do not set the country on fire. The history shows us that it is impossible to build the future on ruins. You will be poor, beg for a piece of bread that we can produce ourselves today. We can do this. We do not want anything from anyone. We want everyone to leave us alone. We will deal with all the issues by ourselves,” the president noted.
