Aleksandr Lukashenko
MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko cast his vote in the elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 17 November, BelTA has learned.
The head of state cast his ballot at polling station No.506 of Starovilensky constituency No.105 of the Tsentralny District of Minsk, located at the Belarusian State University of Physical Education.
Lukashenko pledges support to proactive MPs
“This is a very serious practical issue for me. I have never concealed that we will support certain proactive people who will work in this parliament,” the head of state said.
Possible amendments to Constitution submitted to Belarus president
“I have said that we need to make steps in this direction. It would be silly from me to say that we will change the Constitution by the presidential election,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Elements of the new Constitution from the point of view of the Constitutional Court have been submitted to me.”
Lukashenko plans to visit Latvia in H1 2020According to the Belarusian head of state, the preparations for the visit are underway. He added that he is looking forward to visiting Latvia. The trip, however, needs to be well prepared to bring benefits, he said.
Six candidates are standing in the election race within the constituency.
