MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad has congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on re-election, BelTA has learned.
“I am very happy to convey my warmest congratulations on your victory in the presidential election. I wish you success in your work, progress and prosperity for Belarusians, a nation that is friendly to our people,” the Syrian leader said.
He went on saying: “Your victory and re-election as Belarus' president open up new opportunities for our governments to boost cooperation in all the areas and to advance our relations to a brand new level in the interests of two friendly countries and peoples.”
