MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) - The collection of signatures to nominate candidates for the post of the President of Belarus will start on 21 May, in line with the schedule for Belarus' presidential election 2020, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Lidia Yermoshina said at a session on 8 May, BelTA has learned.
The deadline for the submission of applications from potential presidential candidates to resister their initiative groups is 15 May. The collection of signatures will start on 21 May and complete on 19 June.
The schedule for the presidential election was approved at the meeting of the Central Election Commission on 8 May. Issues discussed at the meeting also included those related to national observers, voting of citizens staying abroad and many others.
