MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Participation in unauthorized events is illegal and is punishable by administrative and criminal law, Belarus Prosecutor General Aleksandr Konyuk told reporters on 8 August, BelTA reports.

Aleksandr Konyuk addressed people of Belarus. “You are encouraged to take part in the so-called peaceful protests. I would like to warn you that participation in unauthorized events is punishable by administrative and criminal law,” the prosecutor general said.

“I ask you to show prudence. I call on all parents: do not let anyone draw your children into somebody's dirty games. Prevent them from adventurous actions, do not let them become a bargaining chip,” Aleksandr Konyuk said.
