Makei: Situation in Belarus will be stabilized soon

MOSCOW, 2 September (BelTA) – The situation in Belarus will get back to normal in the near future, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said following the meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow on 2 September, BelTA has learned.

“We both believe that the internal disagreements in Belarus will be removed in the nearest future and our country will restore its long-standing status of a peaceful, open and non-conflict state,” Vladimir Makei said.

He emphasized that the Belarusian society will determine the future of its sovereign and independent state peacefully and independently through a respectful dialogue and without pressure from external stakeholders. “Our arrangements with Russia in the bilateral and multilateral integration formats, commitments as part of the Union State will contribute to a peaceful and consistent progress,” the Belarusian foreign minister said.
