MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – Lithuania is ready to work with Belarus on developing an action plan to address the existing differences, Lithuania's Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevicius said as he met with Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei in Minsk on 4 February, BelTA has learned.

The Lithuanian minister of foreign affairs thanked Vladimir Makei for an interesting program prepared for his visit on 3 February. According to Linas Linkevicius, Belarus has showed its political will to address the existing issues.

He also commented on the meeting with Belarus' Prime Minister Sergei Rumas on 4 February. The parties hailed a lot of progress, including in economy and transport. There is every chance to expand bilateral cooperation, and Lithuania is ready for it.
At the meeting in the Belarusian government the parties discussed Belarus-Lithuania cooperation, including the petrochemical industry and alternative gas supplies.
The Lithuanian minister of foreign affairs emphasized the importance of Belarus' movement towards the WTO accession and expressed Lithuania's readiness to provide expert assistance.
Differences in the Belarusian-Lithuanian relations remain, however, Linas Linkevicius added. He said that Lithuania is ready to work jointly with Belarus to address the existing differences.
