Belarus, Norway discuss bilateral cooperation, interaction in UN

MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei discussed bilateral cooperation and interaction in international organizations, especially the UN, with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide over the phone, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The two ministers praised a regular dialogue between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, discussed new opportunities which open up for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, and ways to overcome joint challenges that the Norwegian and Belarusian business has faced,” the ministry said. The diplomats also emphasized the importance of joint efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Belarus and Norway are working on a number of draft bilateral agreements. Vladimir Makei and Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide paid attention to the development of the legal framework of bilateral cooperation, the ministry added.
