Belarus, Nigeria discuss projects to step up cooperation

MOSCOW, 10 February (BelTA) – Projects aimed at advancing Belarusian-Nigerian cooperation were in focus of a meeting between Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko and Ambassador of Nigeria to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Steve Davies Ugbah, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy.

“The parties discussed a wide range of areas and projects that could help boost bilateral relations. They focused on prospects of Belarusian-Nigerian cooperation in manufacturing, agribusiness, education, and healthcare, as well as the development of legal framework of bilateral relations,” the press service noted.

Belarus and Nigeria established diplomatic relations on 3 August 1992. In 2019, bilateral trade totaled $11.8 million, 31% up over 2018.
