MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Netherlands have discussed cooperation in politics and investments, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
The matters were discussed as Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Netherlands to Belarus Daphne Bergsma on 17 December. The ambassador presented copies of her credentials. The sides discussed the bilateral political dialogue, the state and prospects of advancing Belarus' relations with Netherlands in economic affairs. The sides expressed interest in continuing the tradition of arranging political consultations between representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs, including at the level of deputy ministers.
The deputy minister of foreign asked the ambassador for assistance of the Dutch authorities with organizing a visit to Belarus of a delegation of Dutch businessmen specializing in logistics, agriculture, power engineering, information technologies, and oil processing for the sake of considering promising joint projects.
Andrei Dapkiunas also mentioned the importance of stepping up cooperation in the area of investments. He mentioned successful projects of Heineken Company in Bobruisk and Philips Company in Brest as examples of such cooperation.
Within the framework of structured consultations of the Eastern Partnership Initiative the ambassador handed over a memo explaining Netherlands' vision of the future of this important European format of cooperation.
