MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) - According to the latest data, the CEC has registered 560 candidates for the elections to the House of Representatives of the seventh convocation. 367 of them, or 65.5% of the total, are members of political parties, BelTA learned from the website of the Central Election Commission of Belarus.
Of them 98 are members of the Liberal Democrat Party, or 17.5% of the total. They are followed by members of the Communist Party of Belarus and the United Civil Party - 57 (10.2%) and 47 (8.4%) respectively.
At the same time, 357 registered candidates for deputies, or 50.8% of the total number, took advantage of the party nomination.
Among those who have been registered, 197 people (28%) have been nominated via signature collection, 123 (17.5%) by labor collectives.
Women account for 27% candidates, young people under 30 for 9.5%, deputies of the current convocation Parliament - 5.7%, deputies of local councils – 11.8%.
As for the professional occupation, those employed in industry, construction, transport, account for 17.1%, representatives of science, education, health, culture and sports - 15.9%, civil servants - 11.6%, entrepreneurs – 9.1%.
All in all, 703 people were nominated as candidates for deputies in Belarus; 131 candidates were denied registration.
Elections to the House of Representatives are slated for 17 November, while the elections to the Council of the Republic are scheduled for 7 November.
