The Day of the Union State is held at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 17 july. It opened with a ceremony of laying flowers to the Eternal Fire of the memorial complex in honor of Soviet soldiers-liberators, partisans and underground fighters of Vitebsk Oblast. It was attended by State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota, representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, public organizations, war veterans, and young people.
