Small steps are needed to de-escalate the Ukrainian crisis

Real small steps are needed every day to de-escalate the Ukrainian crisis, Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the international conference One Year of Minsk-II Accords. Achievements, Challenges and Lessons Learned on 11 February, BelTA informs.

“The longer the final settlement is drawn out, the stronger the inertia of the conflict becomes impeding the regulation of the situation. The threat of it turning into a frozen conflict is quite real,” the minister stressed.

“Therefore, real small steps are needed virtually every day to de-escalate and regulate the situation. We need to constantly generate the critical mass of changes which would meet everyone's expectations and will help restore peace in the region,” Vladimir Makei said.
