Raubichi can be considered as one of the world's best sport facilities, head coach of the Bulgarian national biathlon team Alexander Kasperovich told BelTA.
“In Raubichi everything is within a walking distance. We know all the tracks, the shooting range very well. For the national team of Bulgaria it is an ideal place for a training camp which will stay open through 30 July. In September we plan to hold a training camp in Germany and take part in the country's championship. However, we will see how the situation with the coronavirus will look like. If there are difficulties with going abroad, we will stay in Raubichi and will compete at the Belarusian championship,” Alexander Kasperovich said.
He added that the Bulgarian national team that have come to Belarus includes the best athletes.
The Belarusian national team is holding its training camp at the Winter Olympic Center Raubichi and the Zayachya Polyana ski&biathlon facility from 9 to 28 July.
Raubichi has made a bid to host the IBU World Championships in 2025. The host of the event will be selected at the 14th Ordinary IBU Congress in Prague, the Czech Republic in November.
Raubichi hosted the World Biathlon Championships in 1974, 1982, and 1990.
