Problems with deliveries of Belarusian foodstuffs to Russia are caused by dishonest business, Sergei Belousov, deputy chairman of the committee for agrarian and food policy and nature management of the upper house of the Russian Parliament, told the media.
Commenting on the supplies of Belarusian foodstuffs to Russia, he noted that Belarusian and Russian MPs are working to approximate the laws and try to solve the emerging issues. The work in this area will be continued. “We need to negotiate and solve issues. Sometimes we face some speculative things. This is a business, and three are some unscrupulous players. We will be dealing with these issues together,” Sergei Belousov said.
Russian MPs are interested in Belarus' agrarian experience. According to Sergei Belousov, a draft bill on organic agriculture has been submitted to the State Duma. “I think that Belarus' experience in terms of the quality of products and other things can be adopted,” the MP said.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science, Education and Culture of the Federation Council Viktor Kress stressed that agrarians of Tomsk Oblast that he represents in the Federation Council regularly visit Belarus, study and adopt its best practices and have already began producing first positive results. According to Viktor Kress, the same should be done in all other areas, including the Union State programs, combining the best practices of the two countries.
