President's Address is a midterm action plan

Belarus President's State of the Nation Address has become a program document for the midterm, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at a meeting of the upper chamber on 21 April, BelTA has learned.

“It is a document containing a program of action in the midterm. I would like to draw your attention to some new sides of a number of tasks set forth by the President,” said the Speaker.

In his words, in Q2 2016 the parliament needs to analyze investment legislation. This is necessary for optimizing the investment activity, creating comfortable conditions for investors who plan to inject their resources in the development of industrial facilities in Belarus. “It pertains to both national and foreign investors, and also funds of international financial organizations,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The Speaker views as necessary to remove barriers, get rid of red tape and a subjective approach in adopting decisions. “Our work should be self-motivated and efficient,” he stressed. Mikhail Myasnikovich also asked the senators to convey the main ideas of the Address to the population. The Chairman also authorized the Presidium of the Council of the Republic to study the Address once again and elaborate measures necessary for the implementation of the outlined tasks. This document should be approved at the current session.
