Comfortable and predictable business operation conditions should become a national brand. Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko made the statement as the fourth session of the sixth-convocation House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus was closing on 29 June, BelTA has learned.
According to Vladimir Andreichenko, members of the parliament had this idea in mind as they revised the Banking Code, improved public private partnership procedures, increased the transparency of government purchases, and simplified procedures required as part of international agreements.
A lot of work is being done to decriminalize economic legislation in view of the instructions given by the head of state, said the MP. In his words, more opportunities are now available for doing business in forestry industry and transportation industry. Such an innovative sphere as unmanned aviation has been given a legal framework.
“The first step towards making organic food has been made in Belarus. It is a promising branch of agribusiness and can help Belarusian farmers find new niches on the global market, increase the number of jobs in the public sector, and invigorate the private initiative,” believes Vladimir Andreichenko.
Speaking about near-future goals, he noted that serious lawmaking to create a brand new business climate is about to begin. In his words, a lot of things will have to be done for the first time. As new legislation is developed, it will be necessary to make sure that it matches the spirit and letter of presidential decrees. The development of the budget and tax policy has to bear the same considerations in mind. Certain work in this area is already in progress, in particular, efforts to improve the Tax Code. “But it is extremely important for the new financial instruments to stimulate the economy branches and the enterprises, which are capable of ensuring an explosion-like growth of the economy and the consequent increase in living standards of the Belarusians. Any matter should be viewed from the point of view of economic advisability these days,” stressed the head of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament.
