Belarus is one of China's most reliable partners, Doctor of Political Science Sergei Kizima, the head of the International Relations Department at the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of Belarus told BelTA.
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko is staying in China on a state visit. According to the expert, the first results prove that the Belarusian-Chinese relations are advancing to a higher level of partnership. “The consistent policy of the Belarusian government aimed at the maximum rapprochement with China yields results. This is appreciated by the Chinese side. We will be given such opportunities as China gives to the most reliable partners,” Sergei Kizima said.
For example, the joint declaration signed by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and China President Xi Jinping after the official talks in Beijing reads about the readiness to promote cooperation and enhance the potential in the manufacturing industry which will open up new prospects for interaction, help engage big Chinese companies in the projects to advance cooperation.
Sergei Kizima explained that it will help promote Belarusian products, including on the Chinese market, which is considered to be one of the biggest in the world. The expert said that the agreement with the Export-Import Bank of China aimed at raising the investments of Chinese companies is a leap forward. The biggest bank in the world will provide financing to potential importers. “This is an absolutely different speed and possibility for raising the inflow of investments to Belarus taking into account the big potential of China,” the political analyst is convinced.
The expert reminded that Belarus is of the main hubs of the Silk Road Economic Belt. Thanks to the establishment of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park, it outstrips larger economies interested in the participation in the Chinese initiative to jointly build the Silk Road.
