Belarus has managed to preserve the best traditions of the Soviet school

Belarus has managed to preserve the best traditions of the Soviet school. The statement was made by Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KRPF), head of the Communist Party faction in the Russian parliament Gennady Zyuganov during the Belarusian exhibition, which was opened as part of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi on 16 October, BelTA has learned.

Gennady Zyuganov noted that everything is being done in Belarus to preserve the best traditions of the Soviet school and education through labor. The traditions were represented at the Belarusian exhibition during the World Festival of Youth and Students. Gennady Zyuganov examined the exhibition, talked to young Belarusians, and posed for pictures together with anyone, who wanted one. “An excellent delegation and a very interesting exhibition,” stressed Gennady Zyuganov and invited young people to visit the exhibition's halls, which were dedicated to the USSR era.

Gennady Zyuganov left good wishes to the Belarusian athletes, who will participate in the 2019 European Games in Minsk.

The plenary session of the discussion program took place as part of the WFYS 2017 on 16 October. The session was dedicated to the 100th anniversary since the Great October Socialist Revolution. Representatives of the Komsomol movement and left-wing young people from all over the world took part in the event. The KPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov and Belarusian Education Minister Igor Karpenko, who spearheads the Belarusian delegation at the WFYS 2017, made speeches during the event.

During the WFYS 2017 Belarus' exhibition showcases the country's accomplishments in various spheres starting with the manufacturing sector and ending with education and culture. The exhibition also draws attention to the country's tourism potential, major sport events — the 2019 European Games and the ice hockey world championship, which Belarus and Latvia will host in 2021. The most vivid directions of the youth movement in modern Belarus are also presented as well as various areas of work of the national youth union BRSM, which is described as the most popular youth organization in Belarus and the main co-executor of the state youth policy. The exhibition features R&D products of the young Belarusian innovators, who had taken part in the 100 Ideas for Belarus project, activities of Belarusian pioneers, work and travel programs for university students, and the volunteer movement.

The WFYS 2017 is expected to become the largest event in the sphere of international youth interaction. A daisy with petals of different colors has been chosen as the festival's symbol. It represents the continuity of traditions, connections that span generations, peace and unity of the entire international community. Colored pixels play a major part as a token of unity of all the young people in the world in the age of information technologies. The festival is meant to consolidate young people of the world, encourage interethnic and intercultural cooperation.
