Belarus and Russia should coordinate tourism policies

Belarus and Russia should coordinate their tourism policies, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota told the media during the press tour of Belarusian and Russian journalists “Plyos: object of cultural, historic, and event tourism” in the town of Plyos, Ivanovo Oblast, Russia.

According to Grigory Rapota, he plans to meet with the top managers of the Russian Federal Tourism Agency (Rostourism) in the nearest future to discuss this topic in particular. “Tourism is a big complex system. We will review Belarus-Russia tourism cooperation using the example of Ples. This discussion will probably be the most comprehensive than ever before,” Grigory Rapota said.

The state secretary also plans to meet with the top managers of Belarusian and Russian tourism business. “We will contemplate which advantages of Belarusian and Russian tourism can be used to develop joint tourism. These two systems should be integrated. There are plenty of ideas how to do this. This point can be discussed not only with tourism business but with economists, transport workers, and public officials as well,” Grigory Rapota remarked.

He is convinced that tourism is not only a sector of economy. It contributes to the comfort of living environment. “If we make living standards in Russia and Belarus more balanced, future generations will be thankful for this,” the state secretary summarized.
