A country cannot develop alone in an integrating world

In modern conditions a country cannot develop on its own, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich on 12 October.

“The entire world is getting integrated, even the superpowers. Industrially developed countries are busy setting up economic and political associations. It is impossible to develop effectively on one's own these days,” noted the speaker of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament.

In his words, the internationalization of economies, finances, social standards as well as military strategy tasks requires combined efforts even from strong and large countries. “The Silk Road Economic Belt, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other new international alliances complement the previously established regional and global structures with due regard to the objective logic of the modern world,” stressed Mikhail Myasnikovich. He reminded that the matter was closely looked at when the Belarus president met with outgoing and newly elected members of the country's parliament on 7 October. “I am convinced that the current Council of the Republic will have to discuss these matters repeatedly and will have to make the relevant decisions in national interests,” concluded Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich.
