A total of 4,330,100 people are currently employed in Belarus*.

Employment by sector:

Manufacturing - 23.6%

wholesale and retail, vehicle and motorcycle maintenance - 14.6%

education - 10.4%

agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 9%

healthcare, social sector – 7.6%.

Distribution of men and women by economic activity***:

agriculture, forestry and fisheries: men - 60.8%, women - 39.2%

manufacturing - 58.5%, 41.5%

construction - 81.5%, 18.5%

wholesale and retail, vehicle and motorcycle maintenance - 30.9%, 69.1%

transport, warehousing, postal and courier services - 64.2%, 35.8%.

The level of education:

university - 33.1%

secondary vocational education- 23.1%

post-secondary vocational education - 28.5%

secondary education – 13.9%

lower secondary education (including primary school) – 1.4%.

The average age of those employed is 40.9.

Nominal average monthly salary excluding micro and small organizations without departmental subordination – Br1,090.9.
