Belarus' central bank has decided to reduce the refinancing rate by one percentage point to 15% per annum as from 15 March 2017. It is the third time the National Bank has reduced the refinancing rate this year.

The refinancing rate is the lending rate set by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus to regulate interest rates on the money market. The refinancing rate is the foundation for setting interest rates on operations meant to provide liquidity to banks.
