Belarus-Serbia: Trade and Economic Cooperation

Since 2009 when Belarus and Serbia signed an intergovernmental free trade agreement, the trade between the two countries surged almost 5 times to exceed $250 million in 2015.

Belarusian-Serbian trade ($ million):

2012 - 149.2

2013 - 192.1

2014 - 245.5

2015 - 259.7

2016 - 113.7

2017 (January-February) - 23.8.

Belarus' major exports to Serbia:

items made of ferrous metals

hydrocarbons

synthetic fibers and yarns

timber

electric motors and generators

refrigerators, etc.

Serbia's major export to Belarus:

malt extract

fruit and vegetables

non-alloyed steel

aluminum plates

products made of plastic

machine tools for metal processing, etc.

In Belarus, Serbian investors and business are implementing big development projects – Mayak Minska and Minsk Mir.

In Serbia there are plants assembling Belarusian tractors and buses. A project to start assembling low-power tractors is nearing completion.
