Belarus-Kazakhstan: Trade and Economic Cooperation

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan were established on 16 September 1992.

Set up in 1996, the Kazakhstan-Belarus intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation has played an important role in promoting bilateral cooperation.

Kazakhstan is one of Belarus' top three trading partners in the CIS.

In 2018 Kazakhstan-Belarus trade hit $895.6 million (up by 30%*).

Export - $783.3 million (up by 32.3%)

Import - $112.3 million (up by 15.6%).

2009 - $388.2 million

2010 - $870.6 million

2011 - $811 million

2012 - $925.9 million

2013 - $952.8 million

2014 - $966.8 million

2015 - $574.5 million

2016 - $419.3 million

2017 - $689.4 million.

In January-June 2019, the trade between the two countries amounted to $481.7 million (up by 11.8%**).

Belarus' major exports to Kazakhstan include tractors, dairy products, agricultural machines, trucks and furniture.

Kazakhstan's major exports to Belarus are coal, gas and petroleum products, cotton, metal and metal products.
