Alexander Lukashenko tops the CIS' most trusted state leaders list

According to the latest opinion poll conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM), Alexander Lukashenko is the most trusted state leader in the Commonwealth of Independent States. As many as 65% of Russians believe they trust the Belarus President.

Alexander Lukashenko — 65%,

Nursultan Nazarbayev — 54%,

Ilham Aliyev — 11%,

Serzh Sargsyan — 8%,

Shavkat Mirziyoyev — 6%,

Almazbek Atambayev — 5%,

Igor Dodon — 5%,

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow — 4%,

Emomali Rahmon — 4%,

Giorgi Margvelashvili — 3%,

Petro Poroshenko — 2%.

Russians also believe that Belarus is the CIS' most stable and most successful country:

Belarus - 68%,

Kazakhstan - 51%,

Armenia - 16%,

Uzbekistan - 14%,

Azerbaijan - 13%,

Georgia - 8%,

Kyrgyzstan - 8%,

Turkmenistan - 8%,

Tajikistan - 7%,

Moldova - 4%,

Ukraine - 2%.

A majority of those polled also believe that Belarus is the most reliable partner of Russia in the international scene and does a great job securing rights of Russian-speaking citizens.

The Russian Public Opinion Research Center carried out the poll on 10-11 December 2016. Opinions were taken by calling a stratified dibasic random selection of 1,600 respondents on fixed and mobile numbers.
