The 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine is underway in Zhitomir on 3-4 October.
The forum aims to present the economic potential of the regions of Belarus and Ukraine, to develop new initiatives and forms of economic, investment, sci-tech and cultural cooperation at the interregional level.
Main events of the forum:
a plenary session with the participation of the presidents of Belarus and Ukraine;
the 8th meeting of the Belarus-Ukraine advisory council on business cooperation;
themed meetings, conferences, panel discussions, keynote statements and forums;
panel discussion “On the Development of the Dnieper and Pripyat River Navigation”.
Zhitomir will host:
a trade show of Belarusian and Ukrainian arts and crafts;
a display of large machines and vehicles;
a forum and an exhibition of high technology, robotics, mechatronics and start-ups.
In January-June 2019, Belarus-Ukraine trade reached $2.5 billion, up $100.5 million, or 4.2%, from 2018.
More than 20 contracts and agreements worth some $150 million were signed at the 1st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine that took place in Gomel on 25-26 October 2018.
