Walking the Sula rite in Gomel District

GOMEL, 20 April (BelTA) - The Walking the Sula rite was held in Gomel District on 20 April. The rite is traditionally celebrated the day after Easter. It involves residents of the villages of Gadichevo and Markovichi. After the Easter liturgy in St. Catherine's Church residents of Gadichevo gather at the intersection, dance round dances, sing songs and, holding hands, head towards Markovichi.

The rite has been included in the state list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus.
