Marking Radonitsa in Bragin District

Some 54 villages were evacuated after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Eight of them were buried. There are 42 cemeteries within the evacuation zone. People from around the country come to visit them on Radonitsa (Radunitsa, Day of Rejoicing, a commemoration of the departed). The current unfavorable epidemiological situation affected the flow of visitors here. Only 14 cars cross the checkpoint this year (there were 80 of them in 2019).
