MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – As of 1 May 2020 the broad money supply in Belarus amounted to Br49.73 billion, 5.5% down from 1 April, BelTA learned from the official website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
Broad money supply includes cash in circulation and bank accounts of individuals and corporations.
Cash in circulation grew by 6.3% to Br3.76 billion in April.
Transferable deposits went up by 6.6% to Br5.69 billion. Transferable deposits of individuals rose by 19.3% up to Br3.16 billion as of 1 May. Deposits of companies shrank by 5.9% down to Br2.54 billion.
As of 1 May the money supply in national terms amounted to Br18.5 billion, 1% up in April.
The volume of national currency securities issued by banks (outside bank circulation) dropped by 10.5% in April to Br1.35 billion.
The ruble money supply amounted to Br19.86 billion as of 1 May, 0.2% up from 1 April.
The volume of foreign currency deposits dropped 9.1% down to Br28.38 billion.
The volume of foreign currency securities issued by banks (outside banking) went down by 6.6% in April to the amount of Br1.4 billion.
