MINSK, 1 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian airline Belavia will add a new Embraer 175 to its fleet on 5 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry.

“The aircraft is undergoing the acceptance procedures in Brazil, in other words, it is checked whether it complies with the requirements,” the press service noted.

The aircraft will be supplied in line with the lease agreement between Belavia and Nordic Aviation Capital that was signed in April 2018. Belavia has already got one Embraer 175 and three Embraer 195 under the agreement.

In addition, in February 2020, the airline signed another lease agreement to get three new generation aircraft Embraer E195-E2. The first brand new aircraft is expected to be shipped in December 2020, with the remaining two to arrive in early 2021.

Belavia has been upgrading its fleet since 2014. It has already bought eight modern aircraft: three Boeing 737-800 and five Embraer 175/195.
