MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of joint import substitution projects for both countries - Belarus and Russia as he spoke to the media after talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 19 December, BelTA has learned.
The Russian leader emphasized that the enterprises of the two countries maintain close cooperation ties.
“Russia has additionally allocated RUB105 billion to our Belarusian partners to finance joint promising import substitution projects in mechanical engineering, machine-tool building and electronics. I would like to point out that these are mutually beneficial projects; not only Belarus needs them, not only for receiving this financing. Russia also needs them to fill the market, especially after some foreign companies have left the market,” the head of state said.
