MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – Piotr Parkhomchik was appointed Belarus' industry minister. Previously he worked as director of OAO BelAZ. A corresponding appointment was made by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 4 June, BelTA informs.
“Don't rush with retirement. We need to make the country stronger. If you work well with Roman Golovchenko [new prime minister] on industry, let's assume that we will cope with the consequences of this pandemic. And the related crisis. You can do it. But BelAZ will stay with you for a while. Please submit proposals regarding the new director of the enterprise,” the president said.
He stressed that many people are working at industrial enterprises, BelAZ is a town-building facility. This sector should be in the center of attention, the president believes.
