New head of Krichev District administration appointed

MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko approved the appointment of Andrei Sedukov as Chairman of the Krichev District Executive Committee on 25 June, BelTA has learned.

At present Andrei Sedukov works as a Deputy Chairman of the Architecture and Construction Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “As for the Krichev District Executive Committee, I've thoroughly perused your biography. As a professional construction worker you have to understand what the industrial enterprises in Krichev District represent. Particularly the cement industry, which is one of the staple enterprises in our country. We had a cement shortage in the past. We used to make 4 million tonnes and there were issues all the time. Now we make over 9 million tonnes and can make 10 million tonnes. Feel free to increase the output capacity. I expected you to work for the sake of export. This is why you will have to very seriously take care of these enterprises and other ones.”

The president noted he knows Krichev well since the Soviet times, he has been to the town many times as part of his work. “The town has changed recently, an interesting town. But the manufacturing sector remains. Yes, we've built new clean enterprises, main employers. This is why you will have to take care of them just like you will have to take care of other industrial enterprises,” he added.

The head of state also drew attention to agriculture. In his words, Krichev District is a very important eastern region and these matters deserve proper attention.

“We are now taking an exam as part of the pre-election campaign. This is why the appointment is serious. I've never directly appointed heads of district administrations during a pre-election campaign. You will have to hit the ground running and take care of this pre-election campaign, take an exam for yourself and for others. Since you are from Mogilev, a local man, I think you will not need much time to get the hang of things. You will just have to work,” Aleksandr Lukashenko concluded.
