MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – State awards have been conferred on 96 Belarusians. President Alexander Lukashenko has signed the corresponding decree, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Orders, medals and titles of honor were presented in recognition of many-year fruitful work, high professionalism, exemplary service, big personal contribution to the development of the agro-industrial and petrochemical sectors, power system, industry, utilities and road building services, construction sector, considerable achievements in the transport, trade, education and cultural sectors.
The Order For Service to the Motherland 3rd degree was bestowed upon head of the fourth department of the main operations directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Oleg Prosmytsky. Among the awardees were also Director of Kvasevichi Company Viktor Alekseyuk, tractor driver Nikolai Demenkov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Organization of the Belarusian Union of Afghan War Veterans Valeryan Matskevich, Director General of the Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products Concern Viktor Slavetsky.
Archpriest of the Holy Intercession Cathedral in Grodno Andrei Bondarenko, leading research scientist of the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Studies Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Tatiana Mdivani, head of the modern Belarusian language department of the Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature Studies Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Valentina Rusak were presented with the Francysk Skaryna Medal.
The Medal For Labor Service went to 67 workers of the energy, production, trade, agricultural, transport, petrochemistry and construction sectors. A number of servicemen of the Armed Forces and border services received medals for Excellence in Military Service and Excellence in State Border Protection.
The honorary title “Honored worker of the agricultural industry of the Republic of Belarus” was awarded to Chairman of the Svityazyanka 2003 cooperative company Vladimir Golovach, chairman of the Avangard subsidiary of the Mogilev branch of Belarusian Railways Leonid Koptsov, Director of the Golshany company Nikolai Pravko and Director of OAO Agro-Kolyadichi Piotr Yakimovets.
The honored title “Honored builder of Belarus” was awarded to Director of OAO Orgstroy Svetlana Askirova, “Honored miner of Belarus” title to Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Trest Shakhtospetsstroi company Valery Startsev.
For many years of fruitful work, professional excellence, significant personal contribution to the development of the agricultural industry, the letters of commendation from the president were given to Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Garkun, Chairman of the Board of the Stolin district consumers society Sergei Kryzhik, head of the processing industry directorate at the Agriculture and Food Ministry Alexander Shcherbenok, director general of the Koopprom branch of the Ivanovo district consumers society Nikolai Shikolai.
For many years of fruitful work, professional excellence, significant personal contribution to the development of the road-building sector, the letters of commendation from the president were given to deputy director and deputy chief engineer of the Minskavtodor-Tsentr company Vasily Gledko and Oleg Meishutovich.
The chief designer of the Belgiprodor company Nikolai Krechetnikov has been commended for many years of fruitful work in the road-building sector and personal contribution to the development of highway projects.
