National children's technology park to be set up in Belarus in 2021

MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 145 “On the establishment of the national children's technology park” on 12 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

This institution will be set up in Minsk by 1 January 2022. Every year the technology park will welcome about 2,000 talented students of secondary schools from all over Belarus.

The technology park will offer a special 21-day education program. After that students will start individual distance learning courses.

Young talents will work with highly qualified teachers, researchers, university lecturers, workers of research institutes and industrial organizations.

The infrastructure of the technology park will include a research lab with cutting-edge equipment, a dormitory for students. Accommodation and catering for students will be financed from the budget.

“The establishment of the national children's technology park is a real tool for supporting talented students, promoting the development of their skills and technical creativity, nurturing interest in technical research and innovations at the government level. It is expected that the education at the technology park will motivate students to pursue a career in science,” the press release of the press service reads.
