Minsk city administration reminded about beautification, municipal improvement tasks

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded representatives of the Minsk city administration about beautification and municipal improvement tasks as he visited the cosmetics manufacturer ZAO Vitex on 27 September, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “I've told them to plant trees along roads but I saw only empty land on the way past these places. People are employed to mow grass on these road shoulders three times per year. Waste of money. Plant some shrubs there. It will be enough to trim them once every 3-5 years to make them beautiful and Minsk will look differently then. We are talking about the image of the city. Plant some small fir trees at least.”

He remarked that some work to that effect needs to be done in autumn while overall plans have to be made during winter. The head of every district of the city needs to receive the relevant instructions, Aleksandr Lukashenko said. The president also reminded that enterprises and organizations should also contribute to the improvement and beautification of the surrounding territories.
