MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – We will not let anyone take over Belarus, because we love it and loved ones are not to be parted with, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed the women's forum For Belarus in Minsk on 17 September, BelTA has learned.
“You were right saying that we got this sovereignty and this independence for the first time in the millennia-old history of our ancient people. I am fully aware of the fact that we are not so rich. However, we are not poor, because we have this country. If we falter now and let them take over Belarus, we will die, as well as our children and grandchildren. Therefore you are right: We will not part with Belarus. We love it and loved ones are not to be parted with!” the head of state emphasized.
