Lukashenko: We will always be with Russia despite quarrels and arguments

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia will always be together regardless of how much they may quarrel and argue. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he met with cadets and professors of the Military Academy on 22 February, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko said: “It is our main ally. We will always be together regardless of how much we may quarrel and argue.”

The president noted that there was a period in Belarusian-Russian relations with problems in the sphere of military education: Belarusian military specialists, who were being trained in Russia, were treated as foreign specialists. The situation existed when the Military Academy of Belarus was about to be established. But these problems were promptly resolved. “There were debates around the idea to create the academy. I was entertaining the idea once, twice, and then I thought: we should train our specialists, we should create our own academy,” the head of state said.
