Lukashenko wants Granit company to be more active on foreign markets

MIKASHEVICHI, 4 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the Granit company executives to come to grips with exports as he was touring the enterprise on 4 June, BelTA has learned.

According to Granit Director General Eduard Gavrilkovich, the company's export plummeted because of the border closures amidst the pandemic. Another challenge is Russia's decision to introduce non-tariff regulations that put a cap on the import of Belarusian raw materials.

“Immediately report this issue to the prime minister so that we can deal with it. However, why keep pushing problems up all the time? You also need to do something about it. This problem should be addressed, it is not catastrophic,” the president emphasized.

According to him, the government will help with the deliveries of products abroad, but the enterprise itself should get more actively involved in resolving this problem.
