Lukashenko wants comfortable housing for large families

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – We need to build comfortable housing for large families in the first place, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he delivered his Annual State of the Nation Address on 19 April, BelTA has learned.

“Some 12,000 large families will get new housing this year. 12,000 more will get new homes next year. We need to stop any housing construction on preferential terms and focus on the provision of comfortable dwelling for those who have three, five, seven children,” the head of state said.

The president stressed the need to support large families as demographics remain an important and relevant issue for Belarus and many other countries. “This is the matter of the future, our statehood and our national identity,” he stressed. Affordable housing is the number one issue for any family, its development and growth. “This task should be under continuous control of the government,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
